Al Jacobson

Al Jacobson is an Associate with PAGE Management Counsel Ltd.

PAGE Management Counsel Ltd. facilitates clients to:

4. Resolve disputes.

The constructive use of conflict and dispute resolution is essential for achieving effective and efficient organizations. PAGE Management Counsel has built a resource base that integrates management, technical and legal knowledge and experience with the ability to manage conflict.

- Mr. Jacobson has been advising public and private sector clients for the past 30 years.  After working with General Electric in the area of finance and accounting, he began consulting with Mercer/Hickling Johnston, a national firm that specialized in Strategy, Human Resources and Organization consulting.  He later joined KPMG Consulting as a Partner, building a 10 person practice encompassing HR Strategy and Change Management, Training and Development, Quality and Continuous Improvement, Compensation, Relocation Counseling and Executive Search.   

 - Mr. Jacobson has collaborated with Dr. Pfeffer and other well known management researchers and writers on more than a dozen Leadership Development sessions.

- Mr. Jacobson obtained his Certified Management Consultant designation in 1982 and served on the Provincial Institute’s Board of Directors from 1985 to 1989. 

- As a Board member of the Human Resource Management Institute of Edmonton Mr. Jacobson worked on the initial concepts of the CHRP designation and educational program.  He obtained a BCom degree from the University of Alberta in 1976 and has undertaken continuing education in areas related to management and leadership with organizations such as the Instructional Systems Association, the Human Resource Planning Society and the Academy of Management.   

- In addition to his pursuits with business and management development Mr. Jacobson is an active contributor to community organizations.  He has served as a Vice President for the University of Alberta Alumni Council; Board Member for the UofA Faculty of Design; President, Onsite Placement (a program for placement assistance for persons with brain injury or learning challenges) and currently is a Board Member of the Edmonton Downtown Rotary club and volunteers as an International Youth Exchange Counsellor amongst other roles
